D3 patched Options

patched the game today i guess. Bnet was down most of the afternoon . now when i log in it gets to retrieving hero list and just sits there indefinitely. starting to feel cheated out of 60 bucks. kinda like it should still be beta.

It would appear there is a rash of account hacking going on.. my coworker had his hacked overnight. This morning all his gold and gear was gone,, except for a blue belt It would also appear that the DOS is part of the hacking going on.

So, if you do not have an authenticator or the app.. I would suggest getting it asap.

An authenticator won't help when its blizzard that is being hacked. People are reporting hacks with and without their super special authenticator. They tried to convince me my wow acct getting hacked last september was due to a key logger on my system even though the game had not been installed or logged into for over 2.5 years on my machine. The acct wasn't even activated for that long. Blizzard is a huge target for the chinese hackers believe it or not. You think its bad now wait til they go to the real money auction house and its actual cash being stolen and not pixelated coins. Another epic fail on blizz's part.

Ya, i guess that would be easier... just go after Blizzards login servers.. crack that beast and you get everyone's log in information.... that is more plausible than going after every tom, dick, and harry to steal one persons info.. concentrated effort on the big dirty seems more logical.

Either way, it sucks, but it also explains why log ins have been down so much.. blizzard probably trying to fill the holes in their security. I mean hackers out number blizzard employess adn have all the time in the world to go over code and run attacks... the devs don't have

Yeah there's supposed to be a lot of acct hacking going on but there was also a pretty bad issue they had when they patched the game last time.....Lots of people, myself included were logging in and it would gget to "retrieving hero list" and wouldn't go any further.

Supposedly after a few hours they fixed it, I haven't had any issues since that day aside from horrible single player lag but I knew that was coming when I bought the game due to my even more shitty than it used to be ISP.....HughesNet. Yes, satellite interwebz.
