I just updated to Windows 7, there must be a setting I don't know about because everytime I boot up or restart now my resolution resizes from 1680x1050 to 640x480.

At first I thought it was a problem with my Nvidia drivers so I removed them and went back to an old set to no avail. Now i have no nvidia drivers save for physx installed and it's still resizing my screen on start up. Any ideas? Very annoying.

That's really weird because I didn't even think win7 even supported 640x480 resolution anymore. I mean it's not even an option on the windows screen resolution for me.

Although I had a somewhat similiar problem with Vista using an Nvidia card. My monitor would sometime switch to 800x600 from 1920X1200. I often had to actually restart it sometimes to get it back to the right resolution as changing it in the menu wouldn't work. I don't think I ever completely fixed it but what helped was to use the Nvidia control panel instead of the windows screen resolution options to select the monitor resolution.

Seems to be a problem with the drivers not locking the screen resolution, into the size I set.

Clean refortmat and everything is working nice. 7 seems to use anywhere from 12%-20% less ram then vista did. Currently idling at 31% with music, firefox, and live running. Vista used to hold me above 40% at just idle lol. Though Vista did seem to boot up faster.

And can anyone tell me if this would speed up my boot up? Anyone played with the settings (below).

Also what would happen under MSconfig options if I turned my start up to maximum ram and 2 processors? Instead of leaving the boxes unchecked?

apparently I7 an ssd and win7 have a tri thing going where start up from power on is generally 6-8 seconds. Which is the fastest thing out there, or try sleep mode for even faster boot ups. I am running 12g which actually sped up load times for everything a small bit from 6 g.
