After looking... I have found these two additions I wish to add to my "Computer In Progress"...

I don't really have any questions about that, just saying what I have my eyes on. I like black. Case looks cool and spiffy.
RAM: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....-156-005&depa=1
Kingmax 184 Pin 512MB DDR PC-2700 - OEM
Model# MPMC22D-38X
Item # N82E16820156005
Specifications:
Manufacturer: Kingmax
Speed: DDR333(PC2700)
Type: 184 Pin DDR SDRAM
Error Checking: Non-ECC
Registered/Unbuffered: Unbuffered
Cas Latency: 2.5
Support Voltage: 2.3V-2.7V
Bandwidth: 2.7GB/s
Organization: 64M x 64 -Bit

Two Questions... What do I want.. Registered or Unbuffered? Whats the difference? And.. Organization... Is it bad to get something other than 64x64? I've seen 64x32... 64x16... What does that mean, too?
I don't plan on overclocking, and I'm aiming for at least a 400W Ps... Sp I feel I dont need to worry about the voltage, or any of that... Do I?
And woohoo, thank (no specific) god for a lifetime warranty... :-D

The case looks good..... You can add 2 fans in the front and one more in the back.... I would for now just add one in the front and one in the back. If you buy your case from them ask them the fan sizes. The fronts look like reg 80cm fans the back could be 90 but looks like an 80cm. When you order you case buy some of these fans...
http://www.bestbyte.net/Product.cfm?Produc...ryID=8&Keyword=
I have 7 of those in my case and its really quiet... they are only 21dbA. Unless you want some funky ones with lights then pick what ya want... I have a lazer light in mine so I dont want the fans with leds on them.
The memory is ok for what you want since you are not going to be OC it. You want unbuffed..... registered is alot more money (Google if you want to know why its hard to explain).
Now go and get all this shit so you can get it up and running....... Ill kick your ass if we have to see 3 months of posts asking what case to get

Heh.. Thanks....
Yea.. I got a spare basic fan, that I'll use for starters... Yes, I do want a (few) LED Light(s)... Grrreeeeen... And blue, maybe...They're all so cool! I'm not much a fan of the red (no offense red)... But it kinda looks pink-ish.
So far I have/Will have:
Case /w Fans & PS
Mobo
CPU
RAM
Vid. Card
Modem
And still need to get:
Hard Drive (40+)
LAN Card (not essential..... YET)
Sound Card (very end of list - not essential)
Possibly need peripherials - which will take a long time to buy if i cant get any spare or old stuff from around...
I've got a few sources for stuff....
Monitors - Spare one at my moms house, her old computer took a dump, so there's EVERYTHING but a computer itself. My dad says he's got a spare 15" and 17" at his work.
Mice - Spare one from mom's old comp. One under the desk right now. No prob.
Keyboards - I can use mi madres spare one till I buy my own... I strongly desire a specific kind of keyboard... one that "clicks"... If you know what I'm talking about, you know. They're L337!
Speakers - Mom's old ones. My brother has some spare ones, since he got some kick ass microsoft speakers and a woooooofer. I might have some shit heaps in my closet, along with a stick of 128MB PC100 RAM (Does anyone need that?)
Mouse and keyboard, I prefer new. I prefer it's all new.. But whatever.. lol.. I can more than likely get some financial support from my parentses... Or they can just buy them for me...
So... Does anyone have any spares of what I NEED? Any hard drives? Any sound cards? LAN... or.. as I was teached (lol - L337 linguals!)... NIC cards? If I can't get a nic card, I'll buy the one from Bashar's friend for like 3 bucks, I think he said.

Alright, I sent an email to the best byte guys, and this was their reply...
QUOTE(BestByte Reply Email) Hello, the case uses 80mm fans. You can purchase any additional 80mm
fans for use with this chassis, sold in our website in the fan category
at prices from $0.85-$8.00. Only the window fan is included, which is
also an 80mm fan.
That's a lie.. There are fans that are a lot more expensive than that..! llol
Oh.. And....
If you look at the bottom right picture.... It looks like there's TWO spots for fans, in the front, and that the harddrive/floppy drive racks are centered - I think that's better(for even airflow).

Okay, a few thing I've ran across... I saw that there is Mushkin RAM, that is the exact same, except for four factors... First.. And second.....
Kinston
Cas Latency: 2.5
Support Voltage: 2.3V-2.7V
Mushkin
Cas Latency: 2.5-4-4
Support Voltage: 2.5V
I'm not sure what either of those are. So.. What's better?
The third difference is: 2$
The fourth: Mushkin / Kinston (The name!)
Also... I've seen this.. and I'm, again, not sure what it means.. "OEM"
What I have picked up.. is... it means stripped of original packaging...
Yay/Nay?

Once again Google saves the day for fries
QUOTE (pronounced as separate letters) Short for original equipment manufacturer, which is a misleading term for a company that has a special relationship with computer producers. OEMs buy computers in bulk and customize them for a particular application. They then sell the customized computer under their own name. The term is really a misnomer because OEMs are not the original manufacturers -- they are the customizers.

Well ok let me put it this way for ya...........
You are looking for he cheapest memory you can get for your computer. Those numbers dont really matter unless you get better memory and spend more money. But the first one if you do want to OC it you can go alittle higher on the voltage and that helps in OC sometimes (You also have to have a mobo that lets you cahnge the settings).
As far as the brands...I dont know what the hell Kinston is.... I have heard of KINGSTON I looked on newegg and think this is a good one.
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....-141-424&depa=1
I would get 3200 and not 2700, they are about the same price and later if you upgrade you probly would use 3200 and not 2700 again. Or this one
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....-146-219&depa=1 thats also a good one. Both of those are good brands and are retail not OEM. I know you can get no-name EOM shit for a few bucks less...... but spend the extra 5 or 6 bucks for the retail brand name, if anything goes wrong you will have a much better time getting it taken care of.

Oh, that was one of the other questions.. Is it better to get Retail stuff or OEM?
I was going to get PC3200 in the first place, but the mobo can only do 1600, 2100, and/or 2700.
If i dont want OEM that much, then should I go with the Mushkin?
Since you seem to refer them both as 3200 (which I can't get), and both of them being retaill... Should i go for the retail, mushkin?

Retail is usually better & safer then OEM. I'd go retail myself.

QUOTE(friesx100) Oh, that was one of the other questions.. Is it better to get Retail stuff or OEM?
Buy retail if at all possible. OEM usually has a 30day money back guarantee, and no warranty. Retail usually has at least a 1 year manufactuers warranty. Retail comes with all the software and manuals, OEM just has the parts you ordered. For instance just the ram in an anti-static bag.
QUOTE(friesx100) I was going to get PC3200 in the first place, but the mobo can only do 1600, 2100, and/or 2700.
What the motherboard can do really doesn't affect whether or not you can use PC3200. You can use PC3200/DDR400 in a PC1600/2100/2700 motherboard. The only thing you will be doing is underclocking the memory. The speed of your processor will determine which speed your ram boots up as. So your DDR400 instead of booting up at it's rated 400mhz will boot up @ 333mhz max for your board. Buying Dual channel PC3200 now will give you some headroom if you were to upgrade to a DDR400 Dual channel board in the future. Listen to Kharn.
As far as what brand of ram to buy, go with any of those brands that you mentioned. They are all good. Here is the trick, buy the lowest CAS latency ram you can afford.

Thanks Dis and Kharn. I'll get the.....
[Looks...]
Well... I'm stuck...
Can you explain the Cas Latency a bit... "3-3-3", "2.5-4-4", "2.5"... There's no pattern! How do I know what's low? By the looks of it.. The solid "2.5" is low, to me... In case of the two '3200's', I should be going fooor... The Kingston, with "3-3-3"? It does not matter than much, since I don't OC or anything (not yet, anyways, and/or not on purpose ), right?
The Mushkin reviews state that the Cas is stated lower than what it actually runs at. Apparently it says right on the box "'512MB DDR-400MHZ-CL3'".
Kingston has good reviews except for some statements of people saying it runs at PC333, not 400. Maybe their mobo?
I'm lost with this whole Cas Lat. thing.

If you want to understand it in more depth I'd suggest a website here:
Cas
All I can say is get the lowest you can afford. Something like 2-2-2-5 would be the best, which is way too expensive. You may be in the market for somthing like 2.5-3-2-6,but stay away from 3-4-4-8.

Lol, I like the direct link to google... Thanks?
I went there right after I posted (Wasnt expecting a reply this quick) and found out Cas is the access clock cycle.. How many clock cycles you wait..
Blah blah.. something like that...
So now I under stand what the first number means - but how do the second ones factor in?
Cas 3-3-3....
3 clock cycles... and then what triggers the other two sets of 3 cycles?
So... In the long run, is it better to have a 3-3-3, or a 2.5-4-4? Two extreme numbers at the end, but a low one up front. Is that good? Most of my RAM usage is gonna be on gaming. If that makes a diff.

Cas 3-3-3 would be better in that case. The middle two numbers matter the most. It's very hard to explain without typing up an essay, just take my word for it. This basic idea goes for anyone buying ram. You don't have to overclock to get the most speed from a component for your money. Cas 2 ram is simply faster than Cas 3 or above.
Go here:
PC3200
and scroll down until you can afford the memory.

W00T! My case arrived, and I'm going to pick it up tomarrow.
While I'm out, I'll probably stop by best buy or comp usa, and get some brass standoffs, screws, some sort of washers, and some thermal compound - arctic silver.
I still need to get RAM.
Maybe a Hard drive and modem - depending if my old shite works.
After that i need a sound card - non-essential, though.
IM SO CLOSE!
